Responds to people somewhat impolitely. Everyone is their last name, no honorifics -- he only uses first names for those he's intimately close to. Togami is "Father", Naegi is "Dad", Kirigiri is "Kyoko-oba" ("oba-san" if being formal). If speaking about them with their names, however, he refers to them respectfully, with -san.
Aki is the permanent child of Togami and Naegi, meaning that he won't ever be disowned or turned aside. However, the price of this is that he can never inherit the corporation either. Essentially, Naegi refused to have any sort of child if they had to go through the contest that Togami did, so he and Togami agreed on a compromise -- their children wouldn't endure it, but they also couldn't become the head of the family, and would be hired on as a member of it with whatever talent they possessed. In addition, Naegi convinced Togami that anyone who tried but failed (and aren't hired by the Corporation) would be given enough money to last them for a couple of years so that they could find their own way in life.
Aki's eyesight is fairly poor. He isn't blind without his glasses, but his eyes are heavily strained if he doesn't use them. He makes sure to take care when setting up his studying areas because of this, so as to be sure he doesn't strain his eyes too much. Thankfully, reading is never a problem for him.
Because of his father's influence, Aki has a very noble, almost princely sort of air about him, to the point that the feeling he gives off or the intenseness of his eyes can come off as very intimidating -- if not outright unnerving. However, Aki is actually fairly friendly with most people, and has a lot more patience than many would expect from someone like him. He also tries to extend affection and trust to those around him, though those who see it as a way to manipulate him will be unpleasantly shocked.
He tries to hold that appearance of a friendly, if firm and in control, leader regardless of the situation. This means that his true feelings can sometimes be hard to deduce unless you get close to him, especially in situations where someone needs to keep a level head.
He speaks fairly formally and high-class, adding to the noble feeling he gives off.
Even friendly, he can have a fairly low tolerance for ridiculousness or bullshit. Someone who's regularly insufferable, ridiculous, or just contrary without any sort of redeemable feature will be given a reminder that he is very much a Togami, being met with the cold, soul-crushing harshness that he usually keeps hidden. This is why quite a few people are confused about how close he seems with Kokichi; however, Aki can see Kokichi's true feelings deep down, which give him the patience to deal with the boy.
As well as his icy other side, Aki sees no problem with dirtier, darker work. Though he'd prefer not to go that route, he's well educated and skilled in ways to manipulate, blackmail, or trick others to get his way, and if backed into a corner, he will rely on such things. He just prefers to convince and encourage whenever possible, believing a silver tongue and a friendly leader will get him further than the alternative.
He sometimes feel disconnected from other people. Because of his Dad, he has a view on "commoners", and Naegi's marriage to Togami has eased him up considerably as well. However, he was still bred and trained to be one of the best, and because of this, he can sometimes become hyper aware of the degree of separation between him and others. This brings with it a feeling of intense loneliness, and occasionally a desire for those he can identify more with -- even if they aren't the types of people he would usually prefer to spend time with (Kokichi).
He can sometimes get a little carried away lecturing people if they've done something particularly stupid, especially if they're his friends and have put themselves in danger.
He's aware of his surroundings to a sometimes unnerving degree, seemingly able to pick up on anyone who comes up to him, even if they're trying to be stealthy. This isn't anywhere near perfect, however; he's simply not one to lose himself so completely that he can't notice other people.
Aki is almost obsessively dedicated to learning. His title of Super High School Level Scholar is definitely earned, as he spends at least a few hours a day (when he can) studying something, working hard to educate and inform himself, especially on important subjects.
Because of how much work he puts into his knowledge, however, one of the few things that can make him quickly angry is being called "talented" and nothing else. In this, he takes after his father; his position, skill, and abilities were all won through blood and sweat, and dismissing that is the quickest way to get into his bad books.
He has a slight phobia of women, thanks to Fukawa's still constant presence around his father. While he doesn't mind them in general (and is always quite friendly with them), he clearly feels defensive when alone with them and just as clearly dislikes being touched by them. However, he'll only actually reject or repel them if they're getting way too clingy, especially when alone with him.
Aki fears death like anyone else, but he also finds it immensely sad. A person who's died can't ever be brought back, even if they live on in the feelings of people who cared for them. But those feelings will inevitably be thrown away or fade away, meaning that the people who die will, often sooner, but always eventually, disappear as if they never existed.
He enjoys physical affection quite significantly, though his own formality and upbringing means he doesn't outright give it unless he's very close to the person -- or at least knows them well. He also adores cute things.
